Planning an international trip doesn’t always have to mean stretching your savings. With the right planning and a few smart decisions, Thailand can be comfortably explored in 7 days under ₹50,000 ($600) per person — even for families.

In this guide, I’m sharing a real, practical, and independent Thailand itinerary covering Phuket and Krabi, along with budget breakdowns, travel tips, and mistakes to avoid. This itinerary works well whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with family.

Thailand continues to be one of the most popular destinations for Indian travelers — and for good reason.

  • Affordable flights from India
  • Easy visa process
  • Excellent public infrastructure
  • Clean beaches and island experiences
  • Great food options for all diets

With proper planning, Thailand offers luxury experiences at budget prices.

How I Planned This Trip (No Travel Agent Needed)

I planned this entire trip independently — no tour packages, no agents.

Planning Principles I Followed:

  • Focused on 2 destinations only (Phuket + Krabi)
  • Chose relaxation over rushing
  • Booked flights and hotels early
  • Reserved island tours locally to save money

This approach helps keep costs under control while still enjoying premium experiences.

Thailand Budget Breakdown (₹50,000 Explained)

Here’s a realistic per-person cost estimate based on early bookings and shoulder-season travel:

ExpenseApprox Cost (₹)
Flights (Return)18,000
Hotels (6 nights, shared)12,000
Island Tours & Activities10,000
Food, Transport, Misc10,000
Total₹50,000

Budget Assumptions:

  • Flights booked 30–45 days in advance
  • Twin sharing in hotels

  • No luxury shopping splurges

Costs may increase during peak season (Dec–Jan).
