COFFEEGUDDA – KALASA

Yes, my readers I am so mesmerized by this place that the moment we landed here I decided that I am going to name my Blog on this resort itself – COFFEE – We all love it and GUDDA – Means hill in Kannada. The resort (Google says it’s a Homestay but I am going to call it resort as I felt the same) indeed meets up to all your expectations and above and beyond to be very honest!!

The place has all the luxury of a five-star resort and at a genuine price. Now some folks may find is little pricy, but luxury comes at a cost and frankly speaking I did not consider this very pricy as I have been to much luxury places near Bengaluru and the hospitality was not as per the cost.

Now coming back to the COFFEE GUDDA, though there are lots of highlights to the place I will try to speak about the few that I found extraordinary –

  1. They are incredibly good with their guests and make them feel at home
  2. They can manage big crowds with zero worries
  3. There food is very home cooked
  4. All guests are valued and treated with respect
  5. They are extremely helpful and understanding
  6. The swimming Pool

Now I will come to the details on why I say so. When we were here not even for a single moment. We or the kids missed the home as they were freely moving around the property as they own the place. Yes, jokes apart but even my 5-year kid would walk to the restaurant at 8 am and request for coffee (as he really enjoys and loves the aroma of it) and yes, he was treated with lot of respect and offered the same just as they would have offered any another young guests.

The kids were not interrupted at all, and they were free to pick any games and play throughout the day…now isn’t that an amazing thing that a resort can offer. I have been to may resorts who apply so many restrictions on timings and all for using the amenities. One additional bit that I would want to mention here is that they do not have the sports and other indoor activities just for the namesake they really maintain it and ensure that the guests indulge into it and enjoy the same.

Another key thing is the swimming Pool, this was amazing and maintained so well and clean. The water had zero chlorine so you can soak yourself for as long as you want without any chemical botheration. They clean the pool early in the morning and late hours, so the guests do not have to compromise on the luxury and comfort.

Next, I would surely talk on the food part. The kitchen is maintained well, and the timings are really taken care of. The food is exceptionally fine for any kind of appetite, and they have good options in both veg and non-veg. Please keep in mind they food will not be like restaurants too oily and spiced up. The food will be delicious and home cooked. I prefer the food being that way when I am travelling so I can take care of our appetite and do not fall sick.

Evening they arrange for Bonfire, and it is a complimentary Bonfire with basic snacks. They can arrange for anything else that you would want at an additional cost, and they just do it with so much ease.

The place is great to walk around the Coffee estate and feel the vibe. Morning you can hear the waterfall and the birds chirping and you will feel so close to the nature.

I must say we do not regret being here at all. One additional point the Host will actually guide you to visit nearly spots where you can ride or they can take you but as we were so much in love with the property and kids were loving the whole ambience and the Pool, we decided to just laze around and enjoy the moment instead of rushing into covering nearby spots.

Having said that as I was so engrossed in detailing Coffee Gudda, I missed mentioning that on this trip we were smart to cover two group of temples on our way TO and another on our way BACK.

While going towards Coffee Gudda, we covered Sri Chennakeshava Temple in Belur, erected in Hoysala period. Chennakesava  is a form of the Hindu god Vishnu. The temple is dedicated to Vishnu and has been an active Hindu temple since its founding. The shrines are dedicated to Veeranarayana, Soumyanayaki and Rananayaki and Sridevi and Boodevi.

On our way back we visited Temples of Halebidu a Town located in Hassan, Karnataka. It was historically known as Dwarasamudra. It became the regal capital of Hoysala Empire in 11th Century CE. Hoysaleswara temple is a 12th-century Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Hoysaleswara temple is a Shaivism tradition monument, yet includes many themes from Vaishnavism and Shaktism tradition of Hinduism. The Hoysaleswara temple is a twin-temple dedicated to Hoysaleswara and Santaleswara Shiva lingas, named after the masculine and feminine aspects, both equal and joined at their transept.
